ICARES (Improving Comprehensive AIDS Response Enhanced for Sustainability

ICARES (Improving Comprehensive AIDS Response Enhanced for Sustainability is funded by CDC with APIN Public Health Initiatives as Lead Partner. This project is currently being implemented in Benue, Plateau, Oyo, Ogun, Osun, Ekiti and Ondo States with mass community testing ongoing in 7 LGAs in Benue State.

We conduct HIV testing, counseling, linkage, retention, and PreP services to people living in hard-to-reach communities since 2019, working with our sister company, Idmibok International, in Rivers. We utilize differentiated service models, pre-test and post-test counselling, link positives to care, ensuring they commence ART treatment, and enhance client retainment in these facilities. For children, consent has been obtained by their parents, and for infants, we conduct dried blood spot testing for them. We have been able to test over 1.3 million people, linking over 95% of HIV-positives to care.
